On Tuesday, May 14, Armel Le Cléac’h came first in the 43rd edition of the Solo Concarneau – Guy Cotten Trophy single-handed sailing race aboard the FIGARO 3 Banque Populaire racing yacht. At the end of an extremely varied 270 nautical mile race along the Breton coast demanding considerable technical skills, the skipper made a triumphant return to the competition.

Having come very close to victory in the Solo Maître CoQ, Armel Le Cléac’h has learned valuable lessons from these two races and has boosted his confidence before the Solitaire URGO Le Figaro race that will set out from Nantes on June 2. “It feels good to be winning again. I was keen to get back on a positive spiral… for myself, for the team, for the sponsor. Especially after everything we achieved in 2018,” said the Banque Populaire skipper after his victory.
