Invested in civil society

As bankers, insurers, and asset managers, we provide services closely tailored to the needs of our customers, even the most vulnerable among us, and play a key role in the life of our regions.

Actively contributing to the economic development of our territories

Building on its strong presence throughout all of France, our Group offers locally based services essential to its 35 million customers and to the French economy at large. Our business model of a relationship-focused banking group covering local and regional needs enables us to provide extensive support to all our clientele of individual and professional customers, retailers and artisans, public sector entities and business organizations, irrespective of their size.

In the regions, the Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne are key players in the dynamic development of our territories, notably by financing the construction or renovation of infrastructure and facilities necessary for education, health, and mobility. These activities make us the leading private provider of funding for local authorities.

Groupe BPCE is also a major player in social housing in France, working through the Habitat en Région Group, the 2nd largest private social housing operator in France.

On a global level, Natixis Investment Managers and Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking are developing their asset & wealth management and corporate & investment banking activities in more than 40 countries in line with international commitments regarding the nature of our investments and financing.

Banking institutions focused on social inclusion and solidarity

The Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne are committed to helping vulnerable individual and professional customers by promoting banking inclusion, providing these individuals with specific support via their branches, services or individual pathways to help them get back on a more stable financial footing. In its drive to give concrete expression to the values expressed in the charter for banking inclusion and the prevention of overindebtedness, our Group uses a new predictive scoring tool (that it first introduced in 2021) that enables us to broaden the scope of customers assisted.

Thanks to the activities of our Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne retail banking networks, we are not only the leading banking group providing top-ups for start-up loans without personal guarantee provided by Initiative France but also the No.1 issuer of loans guaranteed by France Active for very small businesses.

Responsible buyer

The responsible purchasing approach forms part of a global, sustainable performance objective jointly pursued by Groupe BPCE companies and their suppliers. It is based on the commitments made with the signature of the Supplier Relations & Responsible Purchasing Charter. Fourteen companies currently hold the ‘Supplier Relations & Responsible Purchasing’ label awarded by the Company Mediator (under the aegis of the French Ministry for the Economy) and the CNA (French association of purchasing managers).

Thanks to our PHARE policy (responsible purchasing in terms of geographical proximity, professional integration, etc.), we contribute to the professional and social inclusion of persons with disabilities by subcontracting certain activities to companies working with disabled people.

Support for local and national initiatives

The Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne along with their respective federations and foundations are among the foremost corporate sponsors in France, investing almost 33 million euros in the regions every year. This sponsorship enables them to support local projects promoting education, health, economic & social integration, solidarity, culture, the national heritage, and sport.

Along with all our brands, we are a Premium Partner of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, and we want to contribute fully to the Legacy of Paris 2024 by acting in favor of social inclusion, diversity, and environmental excellence.

We are contributing to the ecological transition by supporting Energy Observer, the first self-sufficient hydrogen-powered ship, which is both a proof of concept and laboratory for the ecological transition; we are contributing to the preservation of Notre-Dame in our capacity as a major sponsor of the Fondation du patrimoine (Heritage Foundation); we are helping to preserve France’s maritime heritage with the Belem Foundation of which the Caisse d’Epargne is the long-standing sponsor. With the Natixis Foundation, we are encouraging the employees in our global business lines to be committed to an equitable transition to a more sustainable and socially inclusive world.
