The twenty-third medal to be won by the French delegation will be bronze! Ranking third after the cross-country event, the French equestrian team was all fired up before the show jumping stage in the team eventing competition. Karim Florent Laghouag and the members of the French team won bronze.

The members of the French women’s basketball team moved into the quarterfinals despite losing to the United States. The French are guaranteed to finish the competition as one of the two best 3rd-placed teams and to play the quarterfinals against Spain, Belgium or China. The key date will be Wednesday, August 4th

With their backs to the wall, the women’s handball team did what they needed to do by beating Brazil this morning, and they will also be competing in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Ranking third in their group, they will come up against the Netherlands, world champions in 2019.

Owing to the absence of sufficiently strong wind on the Enoshima course, the scheduled sailing races – the men and women’s 49er finals and the last two qualifying heats of the 470 class event (men and women) – have been postponed to Tuesday (August 3) along with the Finn and Nacra 17 class finals.

Tomorrow’s program of events will also be busy for our athletes with the quarterfinals of the French men’s basketball and handball teams and the start of the athletics competition for Wilhem BelocianJimmy Gressier and Pascal Martinot-Lagarde. In cycling, we should note the qualifications of the team pursuit competition with Marie Le Net in the women’s event and Rayan Helal in the men’s. Twin sisters Charlotte and Laura Tremble will be competing in the initial artistic swimming events (women’s duet, technical routine).
