Banque Populaire, partner of the French Surfing Championships

Monday, 30 may 2022

The French Surfing Championships will be held from October 22 to 30 in Biarritz, a town boasting the ‘City of Surf’ label. Banque Populaire has become the title partner of this sporting event.

The 58th edition of the French Surfing Championships will be held in Biarritz for the 10th time in the history of this competition. Six years after these championships were last held on the waves off the Basque coast, the French Surfing Championships by Banque Populaire are returning to the Grande Plage, the principal site hosting the majority of events organized for the nine disciplines on the program. Some 500 competitors are expected during the 8 days of this iconic competition in the 2022 federal season.

A socially inclusive sporting event since 2015, the French Surfing Championships by Banque Populaire will be highlighting the disciplines of para surfing and adaptive surfing where a dozen national titles will be up for grabs.

Banque Populaire is extremely proud to be associated today with this major event in the world of French surfing. This is because, first of all, surfing embodies the powerful values of courage, audacity, and freedom, a set of values defended by the brand. As a premium partner of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, Banque Populaire also wants to support the development of surfing and the cohort of champions preparing for this major sporting event. Secondly, it is because the French Surfing Federation – that the bank has been partnering since 2019 – is acutely aware of societal issues and wants to make these championships an eco-responsible and socially inclusive event that is both fair and equitable. Finally, the bank is proud to be associated with these championships because virtually all of the best French surfers in the nine disciplines on the program, some of whom are among the world’s very best, will be competing in Biarritz, one of the legendary surfing venues in France.
