Being closer and more useful to local communities also means supporting initiatives in favor of young people

This year, the Caisses d’Epargne, under the leadership of their national Federation, are renewing their commitment in favor of young people with a new call for projects in support of innovative local actions.

For the second year in succession, the French savings banks are lending their support to associations, foundations and other general-interest structures working in favor of young people with an invitation to take part in the call for projects entitled #PlusProchePlusUtile avec les jeunes (‘#CloserMoreUseful in support of young people’) before June 30, 2023. This call for projects is perfectly consistent with the Utility Contract launched in early April by the 15 Caisses d’Epargne, an initiative designed to enable the savings banks to ensure that their customers benefit doubly from the impact of the banks’ activities both individually and collectively through the investments made in their local catchment areas thanks to the savings deposited with them. Their ambition is to be “the most useful players for their customers in the transformation of society” in three areas: economic development, environmental transition and social progress. In this last area, providing young people with support is a priority objective.

Last year, the first edition of this initiative made it possible to support more than 200 associations with a €1.5m funding envelope that enabled the beneficiaries to act in areas as diverse as providing young people with access to food, housing, medical care, and culture in addition to pursuing actions to promote professional integration, combat school dropout, and encourage social integration through sport.
