Faced with an unprecedented situation, the Group is taking exceptional measures to support its customers and ensure the safety of its employees.
The unprecedented health crisis we are currently experiencing is combined with a sharp and sudden deterioration in the global economic environment and extremely high volatility in the financial markets. This has led central banks and governments to take historic decisions to support the economy, businesses and individuals, but also to provide markets with the liquidity they need to function correctly.
In this particularly troubled period, the Group’s employees remain mobilized to continue serving all our customers in all our business lines: Retail Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Insurance, and Asset Management. The Banque Populaire banks, the Caisses d’Epargne, Banque Palatine and Natixis have mobilized massively and with great responsiveness to ensure that their customers, immediately and throughout France, will benefit from the state-guaranteed loan scheme. They are committed to rapidly examining all applications sent to them until December 31, 2020.
A crisis unit comprised of all the Group’s business lines meets on a daily basis to monitor the situation and coordinate all actions taken. In record time, the managers of all the Group’s companies have collectively organized the conditions necessary for the continuity of service that we owe our customers, in accordance with the measures in force and with a constant concern for the safety of our employees. As a result, the majority of our bank branches remain open to welcome and satisfy the needs of our customers, and we have considerably strengthened the resources of our remote banking services. All of the actions taken are destined to evolve in line with any new government measures to be adopted.
The Group has made the safety of its employees a priority. Exceptional steps have therefore been taken over the last few days by all the IT entities to boost remote connection capacities at Group level and to encourage teleworking.
Groupe BPCE and all its companies are committed to helping everyone, over the long term, to get through this ordeal and prepare for the post-crisis period.
