On the occasion of the Financial Education Week, let’s take a look at Finances & Pédagogie, an association founded and sponsored by the Caisses d’Epargne that is committed to financial education for all on a daily basis.
For six decades, Finances & Pédagogie has been raising awareness among various audiences to help them gain a better understanding of financial issues and contribute to their full economic citizenship. Aa a major player in the sector in collaboration with Groupe BPCE companies and partners, the association has shared its expertise at several events, including the Financial Education Week.
Finances & Pédagogie is particuly committed to young people over the long term, particularly as part of the French Banking Federation’s programme “J’invite un banquier dans ma classe“ (“I invite a banker to my classroom”). The objective? Raise awareness among children aged 8 to 11 about budgeting, means of payment, savings and security. In 2024, 91 workshops were held with 5th and 6th grade pupils, and this dynamic will continue in 2025 in order to keep conveying key messages on responsible budget management from an early age.
And there is more to it. At the beginning of the week, Finances & Pédagogie took part in the initiatives organized by the Banque de France with a stand and a conference on the theme: “Être aidant, une question d’argent ? “ (“Being a caregiver, a question of money?”) in order to raise awareness of the financial challenges related to supporting a loved one in a situation of dependency.
A few days earlier, as part of International Women’s Day, financial education was also at the heart of a master class: Femmes & Argent : où en sommes-nous ? Investir : pourquoi pas vous ? (“Women & Money: where do we stand?Investing: why not you?”) Speaker from Finances & Pédagogie intervened to adress specific issues related to women’s financial autonomy. To audience of more than 500 participants.
Finally, it should be noted that an expert from the association participated in a conference dedicated to high-level athletes. Supported by Oney and BPCE, the event provided an opportunity to discuss a subject not discussed enough with athletes: how to better manage a budget throughout their careers and prepare for their financial future.
