Groupe BPCE, a Premium Partner of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, is supporting the Olympic & Paralympic Week (OPW) when the Group’s companies will be promoting the values of sport and the theme of inclusion at events throughout France.
The promotion of sporting activities among young people will be celebrated throughout France from April 3 to 8. This weeklong campaign will also provide an opportunity to raise young people’s awareness of Olympic and Paralympic values and enable them to discover new sporting and para-sporting disciplines. The companies in Groupe BPCE, thanks to their involvement in a host of different events, activities and introductory sessions to different sports organized around the country, will be committed throughout the entire operation to promoting the values of sport and the theme of inclusion and, in so doing, contribute to the legacy of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
CASDEN Banque Populaire will be rallying its Delegates and their correspondents in the organization of activities in state-run schools and institutions. Almost 300 projects have been identified for the 7th edition of this campaign while 350 copies of the ‘History, Sport & Citizenship’ exhibition – an initiative designed to pay tribute to the champions who have left their mark on the Olympic Games from 1896 to the present day – have also been made available.
Banque Populaire du Sud, a bank boasting a long-standing commitment to the world of regional sport through its support of a great many clubs, will be focusing on the career conversion of elite athletes at the end of their sporting lives with the organization of a conference specifically devoted to this issue: “Preparing athletes’ professional transition: a winning bet for sportsmen and sportswomen, clubs and companies.” The bank will also take advantage of the OPW to launch its podcast series focused on its team of athletes Je Rêve de Paris 2024 (‘I’m dreaming of Paris 2024’).
Crédit Coopératif, for its part, will be working with the Fédération des PEP (Pupilles de l’Enseignement Public or ‘Federation of the Wards of Public Education’), a network of child-focused associations dedicated to building a more inclusive society. The aim of this initiative is to offer disabled children and teenagers a series of unforgettable encounters and experiences with high-level athletes and para-athletes who are currently preparing for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with the support of Crédit Coopératif in liaison with the French Sports Foundation and the Performance Pact. These athletes include sporting figures such as Alexandre Dipoko-Ewane, a para-athlete competing in the high jump event, Zakia Khudadadi, a para-athlete specializing in taekwondo, and the gymnast Marine Boyer. A large number of initiatives will also be organized to rally the support of our employees for the sports events to be held throughout the week (table tennis tournament, discovery of the activities of the Crédit Coopératif sports association, etc.).
Lastly, certain athletes and para-athletes supported by our companies will be called up during this Olympic & Paralympic Week. The swimmer Tom Henrionnet, for example, an athlete supported by the Caisse d’Epargne Grand Est Europe, will be visiting a school in Toul in north-eastern France.
Gaëtan Charlot, a wheelchair fencer supported by BPCE’s Technologies & Operations Division, will be answering questions put to him by a BPCE Infogérance & Technologies employee at a public session attended by 80 MBA students specializing in sport.
The Caisse d’Epargne Bretagne Pays de Loire will be hosting the French men’s 3×3 basketball team all week. It will be offering its employees the opportunity to join in one of the team’s training sessions and be initiated into the sports of wheelchair basketball and archery. The week’s activities will be rounded off with a 3×3 basketball Junior League tournament.
And these are just a few examples among many others of what we can look forward to during this fine Olympic & Paralympic Week!
