More than a year after its launch by Groupe BPCE, the “Entreprendre 2024” initiative – a program designed to make it easier for business organizations and entities active in the social & solidarity-based economy (SSE) to seize the economic opportunities generated by the 2024 Paris Games – is the subject of real enthusiasm among the customers of the Group’s different banks.
Launched in January 2020, “Entreprendre 2024” gives concrete expression to one of the ambitions of Groupe BPCE, a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games: to help micro-companies, SMEs, intermediate-sized enterprises, SSE entities, and other players in the social & solidarity-based economy to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the organization of the Paris 2024 Games.
For more than a year, the Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne have been mobilizing their efforts throughout France to help customers and companies benefit from the economic openings generated by the organization of the Paris 2024 Games. A total of 20 Group banks have already taken part in the initiative; 13 meetings have been held in the regions, and more than 2,000 companies and partners (the MEDEF employers’ federation, Regional Chambers of the Social Economy, the Les Canaux entity supporting solidarity-based and innovative economic initiatives, France Active, Chambers of Commerce & Industry, etc.) have accepted the invitation jointly extended by Groupe BPCE, the Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Games, and Solidéo (the public entity responsible for managing structural and development projects for the 2024 Olympics). And the results are most encouraging! Five percent of the public tenders have been launched and the first contracts have already been awarded, bringing success to a number of companies supported by the Group’s banks, particularly in sectors such as real-estate development, design consultants, and sports & leisure facilities.
And the momentum is showing no sign of slowing down in 2021! Three meetings have already been held (Banque Populaire du Sud, Caisse d’Epargne Loire Drôme Ardèche, Focus Seine-Saint-Denis) and three others have been scheduled. “In 2020, we transformed the Entreprendre 2024 initiative to work even more closely with our customers and the companies liable to benefit from the program. And 2021 will be an opportunity to give even greater prominence and value to our commitment alongside Paris 2024,” explained Jean-Yves Forel, head of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games project.
Date of next meeting: March 11 with the Banque Populaire Rives de Paris, Banque Populaire Val de France, and BRED.
