An original approach devised for schools to allow students to go on a “discovering sustainable development” trip.
Sustainable development is a major issue not only for society at large but also for the world of education. In order to raise awareness among middle-school, high-school and vocational-school students, Banque Populaire and CASDEN Banque Populaire have teamed up with the academic publisher Nathan to design a game and educational files on three themes at the heart of sustainable development. Presented at the CASDEN Meetings convened in secondary schools, this approach will be rolled out gradually throughout the school year.
The game – for which registrations will remain open from October 3, 2022 to April 15, 2023 – is divided into 2 parts. First of all, a quiz with a series of questions & answers devoted to issues covered in the theme-based file provided, and a challenge to be solved. Participants then have to answer a riddle in order to set off to discover the place where a bottle is hidden containing a coded message and the key to deciphering it. Classes that have completed all the quizzes and riddles will be included in a draw with a chance to win an unforgettable meeting with high-level athletes.
The educational files will be published online progressively during the school year. The first file, “Oceans and Biodiversity,” will be available in mid-November, the second file “Sport, a vector of equality and inclusion,” in mid-January, and the third and last file devoted to the “Challenges of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024,” will be published in mid-March. In support of these different theme-based files, 4 elite athletes – the skippers Armel Le Cléac’h and Clarisse Crémer, the para-triathlete Manon Genest, supported by CASDEN Banque Populaire via the Performance Pact, and the surfer Pauline Ado, supported by Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique – will join a video link and talk about their commitments in favor of sustainable development.
