The Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region mobilized for the climate

Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes and the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes are working to facilitate improvements in the energy efficiency of private housing.

The renovation of existing buildings is a major source of energy savings and a key factor in the fight against global warming. Accounting for more than 40% of final energy consumption, the building sector is more energy-intensive than industry and consumes almost as much as the transport sector (source: ADEME). 

An agreement was signed on September 12 by the Prefect of the Rhône-Alpes Region, the Vice-President of the Region in charge of the Environment, the Regional Director of the ADEME environmental agency, Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes, the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes along with other banking operators. The aim of this agreement is to publicize, streamline and simplify procedures for individuals seeking financing for their energy renovation projects. The goal is also to facilitate their contacts with the Territorial Platforms for Energy Renovation (Plateformes territoriales de rénovation énergétique, PTRE) supported by metropolitan areas and inter-municipal bodies regarding the technical organization of the financing files.

This ecological challenge represents a fantastic opportunity for the regional economy, local jobs and, consequently, for Banque Populaire and the Caisse d’Epargne.
