The Caisse d’Epargne ‘Graphic Challenge’: a competition to celebrate 3×3 basketball

Tuesday, 1 february 2022

The Caisse d’Epargne, wanting to renew its graphic identity dedicated to 3×3 basketball, has launched a creation & design competition to attract new input from young talent.

In its ongoing drive to develop an inclusive approach to society and strengthen the link between culture and sport, the Caisse d’Epargne, in association with the Metz Centre Pompidou and the Caisse d’Epargne Grand Est Europe, launched its ‘Graphic Challenge’ competition recently on January 20. The aim of this initiative is to renew the Caisse d’Epargne’s graphic identity dedicated to three-a-side basketball while simultaneously encouraging the emergence of new artistic talent through this unprecedented competition.

Supporting young talent…

Following its collaboration in 2021 with the French artist known as L’Atlas to promote urban culture through 3×3 basketball, the Caisse d’Epargne would now like to support the emergence of young artistic talent. The winner of the Graphic Challenge – which is open to young people under 30 years of age – will receive prize money of €5,000 in addition to the opportunity to present his or her creations at the French 3×3 Basketball Open Tournament due to be staged from July 21 to 23 in the city of Reims in the Champagne-Ardenne region northeast of Paris.

But there’s more: the new graphic identity will also be displayed at an event organized on the forecourt of the Metz Pompidou Center and on a large number of advertising media: a range of clothing, derivative products, decors, posters, etc. Finally, within the framework of the Pacte Utile Caisse d’Epargne (the Caisse d’Epargne’s ‘Useful Pact’), the designs may also be incorporated into the artistic creation of 3×3 basketball courts in pursuit of the Caisse d’Epargne’s project to renovate existing facilities or build new playgrounds. Applicants have until March 1 to apply.

… and promoting 3×3 basketball

The popularity of three-a-side basketball, the world’s foremost urban team sport and a new Olympic discipline, is growing rapidly. The Caisse d’Epargne, a committed sponsor of the world of Basketball since 2014 and a premium partner of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, has been supporting the development of 3×3 basketball since 2019.
