The Caisse d’Epargne Normandie (CEN) becomes the first French bank to obtain the B-Corp label

Wednesday, 22 april 2020

Thanks to this label, the savings bank joins the exclusive circle of approximately one hundred French companies certified by this international organization.

The B-Corp label, created in 2006, recognizes the inclusion of social, societal and environmental objectives in the missions, business models, and workforces of certified companies or in the services they provide.

Obtaining this certification, which had been underway for several months, recognizes the commitment of the CEN to serving its region, in accordance with its values as a cooperative bank, at a time when providing support for the regional economy and assistance to all customers is more crucial than ever.

Five areas were assessed in the certification process based on rigorous social and environmental standards established in line with the best international benchmarks: corporate governance; employees; communities; environment; customers.

Today, B Corp is both a label and a community bringing together 3,200 companies in more than 70 different countries.
