On November 7, Armel Le Cleac’h and Kevin Escoffier will be setting sail from Le Havre on the Transat Jacques Vabre, the first major competition for the Maxi Banque Populaire XI. The finish will be in Martinique.
At the helm, skippers Armel Le Cléac’h and Kevin Escoffier will be focusing on further honing their experience on this new flying maxi-trimaran in preparation for future competitions in the racing calendar. And why not, cross the finish line in first place!
Listen to the interview with our two sailors (below) who share their thoughts before the start, describe the strengths and qualities of the boat, and explain the goals of this new challenge.
The Transat Jacques Vabre village will be opening its gates to the public on October 29. This will be an opportunity for all sailing enthusiasts – or people simply curious about this sport – present in Le Havre to enjoy the different activities and festivities planned throughout the week before the long-awaited moment on November 7th, at 1:27 pm precisely, when the boats competing in 15th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre will be setting sail!
