To comment on Clarisse’s 12th (and final?) week, Ronan Lucas, director of Team Banque Populaire, looks back on the skipper’s second passage through the Doldrums, on the return of the infamous “Sargasso” seaweed, her ballast problem, and on the final cautious choices to be made until her arrival.

While the leading members of the fleet offered us a historic finish this week, Clarisse is less than 1,500 nautical miles from harbor! She is expected in Les Sables d’Olonne next Tuesday or Wednesday. But before that, she still has to deal with a few days of strong winds with a low-pressure system coming in from the west, and must remain concentrated until she sails through this part of the Atlantic where she’ll find herself surrounded by dense maritime traffic.

She is currently sailing 12th in the general rankings.
