Banque Populaire Occitane, a cooperative banking institution owned by 199,000 cooperative shareholders, provides local banking services to 613,000 customers throughout its catchment area.
Thanks to the commitment and expertise of its teams working through a total of 196 branches, business centers, and specialized networks (Agriculture, Private Banking, a branch specifically dedicated to start-ups and innovative businesses) and its three central sites (Balma, Albi, and Cahors), the bank has rolled out an array of digital tools to enhance its close customer relationships.
In 2024, Banque Populaire Occitane financed 40,400 personal and professional projects across its eight geographical departements and, reflecting the strength of its commercial dynamism, it became the principal banking partner for nearly 6,500 new customers.
Attentive to the needs of its region and true to the values of its cooperative roots, the bank has made strong CSR commitments for 2025 and is expanding its expertise in supporting its customers in their energy transition with the help of the Banque de la Transition Energétique (Bank of Energy Transition).
Banque Populaire Occitane invests in its region’s associative sector active in sporting, cultural and economic activities, to which it allocates a budget of more than €1.1 million every year. Building on its well-established commitment to sports, the bank provides long-term support to over 400 amateur and professional sports clubs throughout its eight departements.
In addition, Banque Populaire Occitane continues to support five regional athletes following the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024: Boris Neveu (kayak), Maxime Valet (wheelchair fencing), Hilary Kpatcha (long jump), Clémence Vieira (beach volleyball), and Benjamin Robert (athletics, 800m).
Thanks to its sponsorship programs, the bank also funds environmental initiatives led by organizations not eligible to receive assistance from its corporate foundation, and finances cultural projects with the resulting benefits primarily aimed at enriching the experience of its cooperative shareholders.
For the past 14 years, the bank’s corporate foundation has supported solidarity initiatives run by regional associations in six areas: health, disability, social inclusion or integration, education, and environmental projects.
