Oney and PayPlug, two Group subsidiaries, and the PrestaShop e-commerce platform have formed an alliance to provide merchants with easier access to e-commerce solutions.
The Group’s strategic plan – BPCE 2024 – has made innovation one of its three key priorities. Two objectives stated in this plan are to be a key partner in electronic commerce and to strengthen Oney’s leadership in Europe in the area of split-payment solutions. The Group is now giving concrete expression to this dual ambition.
PrestaShop, the leading open-source e-commerce solution in Europe, Oney, a pioneer and leading player in split-payment solutions in France and Europe, and PayPlug, the Group’s payment solution and a benchmark for SMEs in France, are bringing together their expertise and developing their synergies to offer merchants a secure, fast, fluid and easy-to-use split-payment solution.
In a context of a very rich technological ecosystem – yet one that is frequently complicated for merchants – this new turnkey solution will allow the customers of SMEs to choose, in a single click, their preferred payment method: in 3 or 4 installments and in 60 or 90 days. The retailers will receive the total amount of the purchase, paid directly into their secure account. They will also be able to create their e-commerce websites with this split-payment solution already pre-installed. What are the advantages for them? They benefit from a very powerful lever for future growth, increased sales, and greater market attractiveness. A total of almost 136,000 merchants in Europe running their businesses with PrestaShop will be able to access this solution.
By bringing the expertise of PayPlug and Oney together within BPCE Digital & Payments, a single division uniting the Group’s payment, digital solutions and data expertise, BPCE is able to offer an end-to-end experience across the entire payment value chain. This new collaboration between three high-profile players in the retail and e-commerce sector illustrates not only the ambition pursued by BPCE Digital & Payments but also the full potential of Groupe BPCE’s multi-brand cooperative and entrepreneurial model in its drive to support all merchants, especially small and medium-sized retailers, with market-leading solutions.
