A day marked by the first medals for our Paralympians! 

Silver for Sandrine Martinet

She gave it her all! Although she was – naturally! – going for gold, she still won a very fine silver medal (read article). Sandrine Martinet, Sandrine Martinet, the flag bearer of the French team, met her match in Para judo (under 48kg) after an extremely close final. With this event, the 38-year-old athlete supported by the Banque Populaire Bourgogne Franche-Comté, brings her impressive career to an end, bringing home a fourth Paralympic medal after winning gold in 2016 and silver in 2004 and 2008, in the under 52kg category. Congratulations for this fantastic career! 

Bronze for Alex Portal  

Disappointed with his fourth place in the 100m butterfly last Wednesday, Alex Portal, supported by the Banque Populaire Val de France mounted the podium after winning a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle (S13). At just 19 years of age, he has won his first medal when competing in the Games for the very first time (read article). The new generation is already waiting in the wings! 

Finally in Para dressage grade III, Chiara Zenati, supported by the Fondation Banque Populaire,  won the right to continue the adventure thanks to coming fifth in the competition… at only 18 years of age!
