La Banque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne a inauguré son nouveau siège à Metz, un projet de près de dix ans qui incarne la raison d’être de la banque, cinBanque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne has officially opened its new headquarters in Metz (northern France), an almost 10-year project that embodies the bank’s essential raison d’être, five years after the merger that created it. ans après la fusion qui l’a créée.

Offering 25,000m2 of useful space on 5 floors and 10 buildings boasting a range of environmental certifications (RSE AFAQ 26000, Lucie 26000, NF HQE, etc.), the new headquarters is now used by 700 employees from the bank’s central services. Banque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne made the bold choice of rebuilding and extending the building of its origins dating back to 1923, situated in the heart of Metz, opposite the railway station. The Charlemagne building, which is well integrated into the city and represents a key facet of the bank’s history and catchment area, has been designed to reflect the major concerns of our times and the needs of both employees and customers. In addition to the energy performance of the complex – it is the first office building (outside the Ile-de-France region) to be certified compliant with High Environmental Quality standards at an “exceptional” level – the site’s energy performance has also been improved: 70% of the waste material is recovered and the primary energy consumption has been divided by four.

A 360° vision

Eighty local companies, most of them customers of the bank, have been mobilized to bring about this “transfiguration” within the framework of an urban life project for the bank and region, which extends well beyond the building itself: a company day-nursery has been set up on the basis of a public-private partnership with the city of Metz, and the building provides accommodation for shops on the ground floor and façade, as well as space for temporary exhibitions. These initiatives coincide perfectly with the bank’s CSR approach and that of Groupe BPCE of which it is a member.
