At NRF 2026, the major retail event in Europe staged in Paris from September 15 to 17, 2026, Groupe BPCE officially launched BPCE Merchant Services. This new business unit brings together the full range of the Group’s expertise in payment solutions for merchants of every size, both in-store and online. Driven by a vision of industrial integration and technological agility, the new entity has set itself the ambitious goal of supporting one in four merchants in France by 2030.

Responding to the shifts in omnichannel commerce

At a time marked by a rapid change in consumer habits driven by the rise of omnichannel retail, the mainstream adoption of real-time services, and the emergence of agentic commerce, merchants are seeking increasingly seamless and secure payment experiences.

To meet these changes, BPCE Merchant Services brings together a range of complementary, best-in-class expertise within a single integrated model:

  • The industrial expertise of BPCE Payment Services
  • The technological agility of Payplug (a fintech acquired in 2017 and strengthened by the integration of Dalenys in 2023), the French benchmark player in omnichannel payments
  • The strength of a regional network through the Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne

The new entity also benefits from a robust innovation ecosystem of more than 800 technology partners (point-of-sale software vendors, integrators, and e-commerce platforms), keeping it as closely aligned as possible to merchants’ day-to-day business needs.

« With BPCE Merchant Services, Groupe BPCE is taking a new step perfectly in line with its Vision 2030 strategic plan. By pooling our expertise and our investments, we will be able to speed up the pace of innovation, strengthen our presence in the ecosystem, win new merchants, and support their transformation over the long term. »

European sovereignty at the heart of the payment strategy

Groupe BPCE, a banking group committed to a sovereign, high-performing European payment ecosystem, is relying on its new entity to support the rollout of future market standards. BPCE Merchant Services is therefore actively integrating the sector’s major innovations, such as:

  • The Groupement des Cartes Bancaires (CB), a long-standing pillar of France’s national card payment scheme
  • Wero, the European instant payment solution backed by the European Payments Initiative (EPI)
  • Estreem, a payment processing company set up to modernize transaction processing
