Sol Solidaire*, an association set up to reduce energy insecurity through the use of solar pwoer, recently launched its first crowdfunding campaign aimed at the general public.

The association (of which Groupe BPCE is a founding member) is taking concrete steps to help finance the installation of solar panels for social housing. The electricity produced is redistributed free of charge to the residents of the housing units equipped to receive it. Sol Solidaire aims to raise 50,000 euros, the amount needed to fit out a 100-unit building and enable its residents to reduce their electricity bills thanks to solar power.

With nearly 7 million families in France currently facing energy insecurity, this concrete action could help the families who need it most by reducing their electricity bills, while simultaneously developing renewable energies. The Group’s support of Sol Solidaire is part of BPCE’s proactive policy in the area of Social and Environmental Responsibility.

*The association was launched by 6 founding members: ADEME agency for ecological transition, the De Gaulle Fleurance et Associés law firm, the Enerplan professional union, Groupe BPCE, the engineering firm Tecsol and the Union Sociale pour l’Habitat (Social Union for Housing).
