The members of the French men’s 5×5 basketball team stylishly confirmed their ascendancy with a second success against the Czech Republic (97-77): a victory that already guarantees the French Team a place in the quarterfinals.

With regard to handball, the French fulfilled their promise and are heading off for the quarterfinals after their victory against Germany 30-29; 3 victories in 3 games for the team coached by Guillaume Gille with their next match on Friday against Spain. 

Unfortunately, the French women’s 3×3 basketball team fell short at the very foot of the podium. The French team lost (14-16) against China in the match to win third place in the tournament.

In the area of individual performances, Maxime Grousset qualified for the 100m freestyle final scheduled for Thursday (4:30am).

The day of outstanding achievements for French rowing continued: Laura Tarantola and Claire Bové won their place in the final of the lightweight double sculls. Don’t forget to note the date of the final: Thursday, 3:10am.

The slalom canoeist Boris Neveu has qualified for the semi-final of the single kayak (K1) event. The semi-final will be held this Friday at 7am, to be followed by the final at 9am.

In sailingThomas Goyard earned a place in the general rankings (before jury) in the men’s windsurfer RS:X event. He is currently ranked 3rd before the final day of qualifications. The defending champion, Charline Picon, came in 2nd, 3rd, and 6th place in the day’s regattas and is now running in third place in the overall rankings.

Also in the Enoshima yacht harbor, where the Nacra 17s were making their debut, Quentin Delapierre and Manon Audinet finished 6th after three races. A good start to the 470 competition for the women’s team Camille Lecointre and Aloïse Retornaz, 2nd overall (before jury) after two races. Lili Sebesi and Albane Dubois of the French team are in 6th place in the 49er FX event while in the men’s 49er, the Lucas Rual-Emile Amoros duo ranks 16th.
