Natixis sponsors the Cezanne et nous exhibition at the Grand Palais

The “Cezanne and us” exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris is open to the public from September 23, 2026 to January 17, 2027.

A partnership for a major art event

Natixis is supporting the Grand Palais as a sponsor of the Cezanne et nous exhibition, co-produced by the GrandPalaisRmn, the Centre Pompidou, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Musée de l’Orangerie. This exhibition, the first of its kind, looks at the work of Paul Cezanne (1839-1906) and his profound influence on artists, from his own time to the present day.

Cezanne, an artist at the heart of modernity

Cezanne, who was long misunderstood by the institutions of his day, broke free of established artistic conventions and invented a new language of painting. His bold use of color, his new approach to perspective and his attention to emotion paved the way for Cubism and abstraction. Recognition came late, but artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Mondrian later hailed his work as a foundation of modern painting.

An exhibition conceived as a dialogue

The exhibition sets Cezanne’s paintings in dialogue with works by artists who have observed, studied, extended or reinvented his art, from his lifetime to the present day. It brings together nearly 70 works by Cezanne and 105 by other artists, on loan from public and private collections in France, the United States and many European countries. It testifies to the breadth and diversity of his influence on artistic creation.

As a sponsor of this exhibition, Natixis has helped to fund the transport of the works between the lenders and the Grand Palais. It has also helped to cover the insurance for that transport and the delicate work of installing and taking down the works.
