Within the framework of the partnership between Energy Observer and Groupe BPCE, the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes invited customers, local elected officials and mountain professionals to the Energy Observer Foundation exhibition village in Avoriaz on February 14.
With a tour of the Energy Observer Foundation exhibition village and discussions with specialists, the one-day event enabled participants to discover the opportunities afforded not only by hydrogen technology but also by solar and wind power. All these clean-energy solutions, which are currently the subject of experiments and tests on the Energy Observer laboratory ship, can find applications in mountain activities. Faced with the challenges of climate change, ski resorts are also committed to gradually decarbonizing their activities with a view to achieving carbon neutrality by 2037. But they are faced with a major challenge in their ecological transition: achieving carbon neutrality while simultaneously pursuing their winter sports activities.
Groupe BPCE and its companies, which all treat the climate as a major issue, aim to support their customers in their own energy transition and to provide them with expertise, tailored advice, and specific financing.
In 2022, customers, partners and employees of Natixis CIB and Natixis IM in Singapore and those based in BPCE Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City discovered the zero-emission technologies developed on the Energy Observer ship during its stopovers on the Asian continent. A series of symposia and conferences organized throughout the year by Groupe BPCE and its companies with the participation of Victorien Erussard, captain and founder of the Energy Observer, have also helped to heighten awareness among the general public, the Group’s employees, and professionals of the opportunities afforded by the hydrogen economy.
In 2023, Groupe BPCE is whole-heartedly pursuing its partnership with Energy Observer with a view to being a major actor of the energy transition, notably by supporting its customers as they face up to their own transition challenges.
