While taking steps to manage the impact of the crisis, Groupe BPCE is simultaneously helping to send humanitarian aid to the victims of the conflict in Ukraine.
Thanks to the joint effort made by all its companies, a total of nearly €5 million will be donated to the French Red Cross. This donation will enable the Group to play its part in the wave of solidarity channeled by the Red Cross Movement in support of the civilian population and refugees both in Ukraine itself, in neighboring countries, and on French soil. In addition, employees wanting to make their own contribution to this financial assistance can do so via a fundraising page created for the Group by the French Red Cross for this very purpose.
Another initiative aimed more specifically at refugees arriving in France: the Caisses d’Epargne and the HLM rent-controlled housing bodies members of the Group’s social housing operator Habitat en Région, have decided to make an exceptional contribution of €1.8 million to the Habitat en Région solidarity fund. This fund, which is distributed at a local level, pursues a number of related objectives: to make units in its housing stock immediately available to help cope with the influx of refugees as and when needed, to provide humanitarian organizations with premises to store and distribute the aid they receive, and to finance the acquisition of furniture and essential items for the refugees.
